Lawrence Lindholm, 84

Thief River Falls - Lawrence Lindholm, 84, died on Sunday, December 21, 1997 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 27 at Green Funeral Home Chapel in Thief River Falls. Grace Hammer was the organist and provided vocal music. Casketbearers were family and friends at the service. Burial was held at Nyed Cemetery in Foldahl township of Marshall County.

Lawrence Ingvald Lindholm was born on June 20, 1913 in West Valley township of Marshall County, the son of Adrian and Anne (Lofquist) Lindholm. He was baptized at the Gospel Tabernacle in Thief River Falls in 1945 and attended school and grew to adulthood on the home farm near Strandquist. In 1939 Larry married Alice Knutson.

As a young man, Larry moved to San Francisco, CA where he went to work in the shipyards. In 1951 he returned to the Strandquist and Stephen area where he worked for several farms. In the mid-60's Larry moved to Thief River Falls where he worked as a custodian at Oakland Park Nursing Home. In 1974 he married Myra Kuznia.

Larry enjoyed music, especially playing the guitar and banjo. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include three children, Morris (Dee) Lindholm of Fergus Falls, Sandra (Dennis) Falenschek of Anoka and Jill (David) Lindholm-Klein of Thief River Falls; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Ruby Barstad, Yolanda Meisser, Kathleen Care, Darlene Boleski and Geraldine Kuznia; and one brother in infancy.
