Dale Liggett, 68

İİİChicago, Ill. - Dale Liggett, 68, died on August 19, 2004, at his home in Chicago, Ill.

İİİA memorial service was held on August 23, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Lansing, Ill., with Rev. Peter Hartmann officiating. Interment will be in Thief River Falls at a future time.

İİİDale Arthur Liggett was born June 9, 1936, in Thief River Falls, the son of Harriet Vernett Liden and Arthur Elmer Liggett. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, attended Northrop Elementary School and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1955. He was a member of the Minnesota National Guard. He was a graduate of Molar Barber College in Fargo, N.D., and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC, and his Master's Degree from Syracuse University, N.Y. He also attended the University of Minnesota; the University of South Dakota, Vermillion; East Carolina University in South Carolina; the University of Nebraska; and St. Cloud State University.

İİİHe taught in several private and public schools in the United States and was presently retired and the owner of Captain's Chair Barber Shop in Oak Lawn, IL.

İİİOn August 10, 1963, he was united in marriage to Betty C. Thereau in Minneapolis, MN. They made their home in Chicago, IL.

İİİHe is survived by his wife, Betty; children: Cheryl Canning, Carol (Chuck) Hayes, Robert (Krista) Liggett, Barbara (fiance: Mike Shelton), Beth and Ruth Liggett; sEVEN grandchildren; as well as a sister, Sharon LaCoursiere; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

İİİHis mother, Harriett Liggett; and uncles Arvill, Lyle, Emmett, Donovan and Ardell Liden and Ben Froiland preceded him in death.
