
Murle Lien, 80
Thief River Falls - Murle K. Lien, 80, died Sunday, October 22, 2000 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday, October 25) at United Free Lutheran Church in Greenbush. Casketbearers will be Clayton Kjos, Sander Tureson, Nolan Kjos, Ken Erickson, Lyle Kjos and Alvin Sather. Interment will be in United Free Bethania Cemetery at Greenbush.
Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services. Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush is in charge of the arrangements.
Murle K. Lien was born on September 3, 1910 at Greenbush, the daughter of Amund G. and Karen (Lieshagen) Lien. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Greenbush High School in 1929. She was employed as a clerk at the U.S. Department of Agriculture Federal Office in Washington, D.C. and later transferred to the Department of Entomology and Plant Quarantine when it moved to Minneapolis. She retired in 1975. In 1976, Murle move to Greenbush and resided there until she moved to Thief River Falls a few years ago.
Survivors include three sisters, Hazel Carlson of Columbia, S.C., Ada Eide of Minneapolis and Gladys Lien of Thief River Falls; and a brother, Andrew Lien of Thief River Falls.
Murle was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gilmer. A00003B2000OC25
