- Clara Levorson, 94, died Tuesday, August 15, 2000 at Pioneer
Memorial Care Center in Erskine.
Funeral services were held at 12 noon on Saturday, August 19 at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with Rev. Paul Knutson officiating. Joy Nordby was the organist, and the soloist was Scott Levorson. Casketbearers were Jerome Levorson, Erik Levorson, Rhoda Levorson, David Levorson, Scott Levorson, Sonja Levorson and Russell Thune. Interment was in St. Olaf Cemetery in Grygla.
Clara Louise Berg was born on July 21, 1906 near Mayville, N.D., the daughter of Jonas and Pauline (Paulson) Berg. After graduating from high school, she attended Interstate Business College.
Clara met Waldemar Andor Levorson while he was working on her parent's farm, and they were married on November 9, 1927 at the parsonage of Rev. and Mrs. P.B. Haack in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The couple farmed on Waldemar's parents former homestead near Grygla from November of 1937 until they retired in June of 1974 and moved to Thief River Falls. Clara had resided at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine since September of 1992. Her husband, Waldemar, died on November 23, 1994.
Survivors include one son, Jerome (Norma) Levorson of Albert Lea; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one daughter-in-law, Sylvia Levorson of Grand Forks, N.D.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Winton and Colin; one daughter, Carol Wanda; her parents; four brothers, Peter, Oscar, Melvin and Gilbert; and five sisters, Dina, Ida, Josie, Jennie and Marie.
