
Brainerd - Julian C. "Babe" Lendobeja, 91, died Thursday, April 23, 1998 at Bethany Good Samaritan in Brainerd.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 25 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls with Father Joe Richards officiating. Casketbearers were Susan Moore, Tom Moore, John Galbraith, Bill Brattland and Danny Johnson. Burial was in St. Bernard's Cemetery. The Green Funeral Home of Thief River Falls was in charge of the arrangements.
Julian "Babe" Lendobeja was born on November 28, 1906 in Kratka township of Pennington county, the son of Peter and Mary (Budka) Lendobeja. He attended rural school in Kratka township. He also attended the Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis. He worked at the Goodyear Rubber Plant in Akron, OH and then returned to Kratka township to help on the family farm.
On July 29, 1946 Julian was united in marriage to Eva Robarge. Together they continued the family farm operation until his retirement in the mid-1970's.
Babe was active in the Knights of Columbus, the Eagles and the local 4-H club as a leader.
Julian is survived by his wife, Eva of Thief River Falls; two sons, Peter (Mary Lynn) Lendobeja of Cameron, WI and Paul (Jan) Lendobeja of Brainerd; five grandchildren; one sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son in infancy; five sisters, Theresa, Josie, Frances, Anna and Agnes; and four brothers, Walter, Leon, Theodore and Adam.
