River Falls - Eva Lendobeja, 90, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999 at
Northwest Medical Center.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 5 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls with Father Dennis Wieland officiating. Kristie LaSalle was the organist, and special music was provided by the Resurrection Choir. Casketbearers were her grandsons, Paul, Matthew and Joey Lendobeja, and John Galbraith, Bill Brattland and Danny Johnson. Burial was in St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery. The Green Funeral Home of Thief River Falls was in charge of the arrangements.
Evangeline "Eva" Marguite Robarge was born on November 22, 1908 in Harvey, North Dakota, the daughter of Victor and Anna (Nelson) Robarge. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. Eva also lived in Overby, ND, before her father's job with the railroad brought the family to the Thief River Falls community. Following graduation from Lincoln High School she attended Paul's Barber and Beauty Academy in Minneapolis. Eva was a beautician in Minneapolis for some years and later owner and operated her own beauty shop in Thief River Falls for 15 years.
On June 29, 1946 she was united in marriage to Julian C. Lendobeja in Thief River Falls, and the couple made their home in Kratka township of Pennington county for 48 years.
Eva was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Drum Corps, Kratka Homemakers, Moccasin Garden Club, St. Bernard's Guild and Circle, Catholic Daughters and St. Bernard's Catholic Church. She was also a leader for the Kratka 4-H Club. In 1981 she and her husband were honored as Pennington County Senior Citizens of the Year.
Eva is survived by two sons, Peter (Mary Lynn) Lendobeja of Cameron, WI and Paul (Jan) Lendobeja of Brainerd; five grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Rambeck; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian; her parents; one son in infancy; two brothers, Robert and John Robarge; and one sister, Grace Galbraith. A00003B1999AR07
