Leo LeDoux, 95

Crookston - Leo LeDoux, 95, formerly of Red Lake Falls died Wednesday, July 1, 1998 at Riverview Nursing Home in Crookston.

Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, July 7 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Tim Bushy officiating. Kathie Knott was the organist, and St. Joseph's Church Choir provided special music. Casketbearers were Leo's grandsons, John LeDoux, Randy LeDoux, Allan LeDoux, Michael LeDoux, Mark LeDoux, James LeDoux, Joseph LeDoux and Kim Domier. Honorary casketbearers were all of Leo's grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Burial was in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake Falls. The Petterson Funeral Home of Red Lake Falls was in charge of the arrangements.

Leo LeDoux was born on December 2, 1902 at Willow City, ND, the son of Narcisse Cyprien and Josephine (Carrier) LeDoux. He homesteaded a ranch near Belfield, ND where he also worked as a ranch hand.

On November 14, 1923 he was united in marriage to Rose Richards at Belfield. The couple moved to a farm near Beltrami where they lived and farmed before purchasing a farm south of Red Lake Falls in 1940. They farmed there until retirement in the 1960's. After Rose died on April 7, 1979 Leo moved into Red Lake Falls. For the past few years he has resided at Riverview Nursing Home in Crookston.

Leo is survived by three sons, LaVerne (Margaret) LeDoux of Red Lake Falls, Leonard Wilbert (Isabelle) LeDoux of Shelton, WA and Donavon (Jean) LeDoux of Detroit Lakes; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Rita Geary of Portland, OR and Irene Joubert of Buffalo, WY.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose; his parents; one daughter, Evelyn Kolodge in 1995; four brothers, Ed, Bert, Archie and Orice; and one sister, Lina Olson.
