June Larson, 69

Roseau - June Larson, 69, formerly of Oklee, died Saturday, May 15, 1999 at Roseau Area Nursing Home in Roseau.

Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday, May 19) at 2 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church near Oklee with Reverend Robert Paulson officiating. Linda Ventura will be the organist. Casketbearers will be Joel Kvasager, Ron Hegge, David Halvorson, Mike Sello, Mike Dessellier and Henry Klasen. Honorary casketbearers will be June's brothers and sisters, friends, and Sheltering's Oaks staff and hospice. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation was held on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service at Petterson Funeral Home in Oklee. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church.

June Pauline Langved was born on June 25, 1929 near Fertile, the daughter of Albert and Tina (Barlund) Langved. She was raised and attended school there, graduating from Fertile High School in 1948. She worked as a nurse's aid at various places in the area.

On November 4, 1951 she was united in marriage to Alvin Larson at Maple Bay. The couple made their home in Equality township near Oklee where they farmed and raised livestock. Alvin died on January 1, 1987. June continued to live on the farm for a short time and then moved to Thief River Falls. On November 17, 1994 she moved to Roseau where she had since resided.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, its Ladies Aid, and a homemakers group. She enjoyed needlework, painting and her flower garden.

June is survived by two daughters, Heidi (Douglas) Horachek of Goodridge and Wendy Larson of Otsego; one son, Daniel (Charissa) Larson of Oklee; six grandchildren; one brother, James (Maxine) Langved of Fertile; three sisters, Kathleen Fahey of Rosemount, Alpha (Harold) Halvorson of Thief River Falls and Donna Kvasager of Oklee; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
