River Falls - Ethel E. Larson, 92, died Monday, December 11, 2000
at the CNC unit of Northwest Medical Center in Thief River
Falls.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 14, at Green Funeral Home Chapel in Thief River Falls with Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Phyllis Dalager was the organist, and the soloist was Bonnie Ness. Casketbearers were Curtis Ness, Sheldon Peterson, Glen Davidson and Dale Wilkens. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.
Ethel E. Sorenson was born on March 31, 1908 in Norden township of Pennington county, the daughter of Soren and Mattie (Larson) Sorenson. She was baptized and confirmed in to the Lutheran faith and attended school in Norden township.
On September 9, 1934, Ethel was united in marriage to A. Arthur Larson in Thief River Falls where the couple made their home. Arthur died in 1963.
For 10 years, Ethel worked as a nurse's aid at Valley Home. She later moved to Riverside Terrace where she made her home for many years. For the past two years, she had been a resident of the CNC unit of Northwest Medical Center.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and Lydia Circle.
Ethel is survived by three sons, Bruce (Marles) of Duluth, Dean (Sandy) of Howard, Colo. and Mark Larson of Thief River Falls; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; seven sisters, Anna Olson, Minnie Myrom, Mabel Ness, Gladys Malchow, Ina Ness, Carrie Hollander and Mary Swanson; three brothers, Henry, Charles and Sam Sorenson; and a granddaughter, LeeAnn Vollmer.
