Elta Larson, 81

Thief River Falls - Elta Larson, 81, died Wednesday, July 16, 1997 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on July 21 at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Reverend Gaylen Sylvester officiating. Joyce Halbasch was the organist, and Reverend Terri Cuppett was the soloist. Casketbearers were Vernon Konickson, Clair Larson, Neil Konickson, Bob Franck, Larry Goulet and Bob Franck. Burial was at Clara Lutheran Cemetery, Wyandotte township, Pennington County. The Green Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Elta Ottilia Pauline Dietz was born November 11, 1915 at Vesta the daughter of Herman A. and Lilly Pauline (Kolander) Dietz. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christain faith and attended school in rural Vesta and Wabasso. Elta was united in maariage to Helge J. Larson on August 20, 1955 in Thief River Falls where the couple made their home. She carried mail for the airport and cooked at the M & D Cafe and at Jung's Bakery.

She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

Elta is survived by two sons, Jeffrey and David, both of Thief River Falls; one sister, Sylvia Anderson of Moorhead; three brothers, Paul (Gertrude) Dietz of Echo, Raymond (Diane) Dietz of Carlos and Clarence (Carrie) Dietz of Thief River Falls; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Helge, in 1961; one daughter, Janice Dietz; one sister, Bernice Franck; and two brothers, Lawrence and Harold Dietz.
