
Oklee - Arlene Larson, 68, died Thursday, April 9, 1998 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 14 at Salem Lutheran Church near Oklee with Reverend Terri Cuppett officiating. Grace Hammer will be the organist and soloist. Casketbearers will be David Austad, Larry Oneill, Danny Larson, Joel Kvasager, Einar Kvasager and Mike Dessellier. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Petterson Funeral Home of Red Lake Falls was in charge of the arrangements.
Arlene Heiren was born on June 8, 1929 at Wannaska, the daughter of Peder and Annette (Bergit) Heiren. She was raised and attended rural school at Wannaska and graduated from Roseau High School. She received her degree in registered nursing from the Swedish Hospital Nursing School in Minneapolis.
On January 26, 1952 Arlene was united in marriage to Gunsten Larson at Minneapolis. Following their marriage, they returned to the Oklee area where they have since resided.
Arlene was a nurse for over 30 years at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, retiring in 1986.
She is survived by her husband, Gunsten of Oklee; three children, Marla Larson of Helena, MT, Jim (Florence) Larson of Knoxville, TN and Grace (Mike) Desselier of Oklee; five grandchildren; and one sister, Myra (Edwin) Johnson of Minneapolis.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ellsworth.
