Bernard "Barney" Lanska, 79

Hibbing - Bernard "Barney" F. Lanska, 79, died Sunday, November 16, 1997 at Mesa, AZ.

Funeral services were held Thursday, November 20 at 1 p.m. at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church with Pastor Tim Maki officiating. Burial was at Maple Hill Cemetery.

Bernard Lanska was born on November 25, 1917 in Thief River Falls. For many years he worked for Daniels Electric in Thief River Falls.

Since 1957 he has lived in the Virginia and Hibbing areas. He was a retired electrical contractor who had worked for Midland Industrial Electric. Bernard served in the US Army and was a World War II veteran.

He was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and the Gideons.

Bernard is survived by his wife Vergine; five sons, Rudy (Dorothy) of San Jose, CA, Dennis (Jean) of Cokato, Ronald (Elaine) of Coon Lake; Terry of Hibbing and Larry (Chris) of Virginia; three daughters, Lee (Don) Brown of Thief River Falls, Beverly (Robert) Pluth of Blaine and Lolly (Bill) Lanska-Morin of Bowie, MD; one brother, Freeman (Evelyn) of Thief River Falls; 18 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one great-granddaughter; one brother and one sister.
