
Oklee - Marion L. Lambert, 87, died Thursday, January 18, 2001 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, January 23, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee with Father Gary LaMoine officiating and Father Joe Richards concelebrating. Barb Melby was the organist, and vocalists were Debbie Amiot and Cindy Lambert.
Casketbearers were Marion's grandsons: Tim Vraa, Tony Vraa, Douglas Vraa, Eric Vraa, Scott Lambert, Nathan Lambert and Tim Lambert. Honorary casketbearers were her granddaughters: Kristin Lambert, Debbie Amiot, Trini Cyr, Michelle Lambert, Cheri Barnier, Jennifer Bertzyk, Wanda Alsten, Angela Lambert and Cindy Lambert. Burial was in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery in Oklee with Johnson Funeral Service of Oklee in charge of the arrangements.
Marion Leona Boucher was born on August 4, 1913 at Bucktown, the daughter of Xavier and Emma (Martin) Boucher. She was raised in Lambert township near Oklee and attended a rural school. She worked on area farms as a domestic laborer.
On July 8, 1935, she was married to Walter Lambert at Oklee. The couple lived in Detroit, Mich. for 10 years before returning to Lambert township. They resided there until 1970 when they moved into Oklee. Walter died on June 2, 1991, and Marion had resided at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls since October of 2000.
Marion was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, St. Ann's Society and the Sew n' Save Homemakers club.
She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting and gardening.
Marion is survived by a son, Richard (Mary Ann) Lambert of Oklee; four daughters, Lois (Earl) Vraa of Sarona, Wisc., Sandy Lambert of Albuquerque, N.M., Sister Jo (JoAnne) Lambert of St. Paul and Gail (Art) Bowlin of Picayune, Miss.; two sisters, Anna (Adelore) Morrisette of Red Lake Falls and Florence (Maurice) Derosier of Oak Creek, Wisc.; a brother, Leonard (Rose) Boucher of Thief River Falls; two sisters-in-law; 16 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Robert; her parents; four brothers, Emil, Lawrence, Charlie and Frank; a grandson; and a great-grandson. A00003B2000JA24
