Agnes Lambert, 81

Red Lake Falls - Agnes Lambert, 81, died Monday, June 28, 1999 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls.

Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, July 2, 1999 at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Tim Bushy officiating. Gemma Drees was the organist, and special music was provided by St. Joseph's Church Choir. Casketbearers were Tim Schmidt, Dean Schmidt, Randy Sauve, Jonathan Sauve, Nathan Hooser and Jamie Sauve. Burial was in St. Joseph's Church Cemetery. The Petterson Funeral Home of Red Lake Falls was in charge of the arrangements.

Agnes Rose Sauve was born on October 5, 1917 at Crookston, the daughter of Oscar and Palmire (Sauve) Sauve. She grew up in the Red Lake Falls area where she attended school.

On December 30, 1944 she was united in marriage to Dennis Lambert in Red Lake Falls. The couple lived in Red Lake Falls where Agnes did housekeeping for people and provided daycare. In 1968, she began working at Hillcrest Nursing Home and worked there until retiring in 1982. Dennis died on August 26, 1974. On May 28, 1999 Agnes entered Hillcrest Nursing Home.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and reading. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church and the VFW Auxiliary and was a Gold Star Mother.

Agnes is survived by her son, Richard "Dick" (Geri) Lambert of Red Lake Falls; three grandchildren; four brothers, Omer Sauve, Jim (Elizabeth) Sauve, and Jerry (Marlene) Sauve, all of Red Lake Falls, and Mike (Kathleen) Sauve of Rudd, IA; two sisters of Mary Kellenburger of Superior, WI and Lorraine (Chet) Brown of Red Lake Falls; and several nieces and nephews.

Agnes is preceded in death by her husband; parents; Francis "Fritz" Benoit (Lambert) who lived with Agnes and family; and six brothers, George Sauve, Eli Sauve, Robert "Bert" Sauve, Delphus "Pete" Sauve, William "Sam" Sauve and Edmund Sauve. A00003B1999JL07
