Middle River - Ray E. "Buddy" Ladwig, 67, died Tuesday, March 14, 2000 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 18 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Middle River with Father Don Braukmann officiating. Vocalists were Howard and Gary Hodne. Casketbearers were Jerry Cwikla, Howard Hodne, Cory Hodne, Keith Jesme, Kenny Cwikla and Hjalmer Hanson. Interment was in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Middle River with the Collins Funeral Home of Middle River in charge of the arrangements.
Ray Elmer "Buddy" Ladwig was born on September 18, 1932 at Greenbush, the son of Richard and Rose (Riske) Ladwig. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith and grew up and attended school in the Thief Lake community in Marshall county near Middle River. He farmed with Walter Dobyyznski in Thief Lake township of Marshall county and was also employed by Thygeson Construction of Middle River for several years.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Thief River Falls Eagles.
Ray is survived by one brother, Kenneth (Delores) of Roseau; one aunt; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and Walter Dobyyznski.
