Karlstad - Robert Kurowski, 50, died Saturday, April 3, 1999 at the Karlstad Memorial Nursing Center in Karlstad.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 6 at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Karlstad with Father Don Braukmann officiating. Pat Larson was the organist. Ben Kleinwachter was the proclaimer, and giftbearers were Amanda Kurowski and Andrea Hodge. Casketbearers were Francis Kuznia, Clarence Guzek, Ted Chwialkowski, Floyd Blazejewski, Gary Kostrzewski and Randy Kostrzewski. Burial was in St. Edward's Catholic Cemetery in Strandquist. The Collins Funeral Home of Karlstad was in charge of the arrangements.
Robert Bruno Kurowski was born on August 1, 1948 in Wright township of Marshall county near Florian, the son of August and Rose (Borowicz) Kurowski. He graduated from Karlstad High School in 1967 and was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. Due to health problems, Robert had resided at the Karlstad Memorial Nursing Center since November of 1974.
He is survived by his mother, Rose Olson of Lake Bronson; two sisters, Mary of Karlstad and Sandra (Keith) Finney of Portland, ND; two brothers, Paul (Alyce) of Lake Bronson and James (Mary) of Hillsboro, ND; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
Robert was preceded in death by his father in 1970; his stepfather, Willie Olson in 1986; two brothers, David in 1995 and August in 1997; two sisters, Delores in 1997 and Dorothy in 1998; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
