Karlstad - Funeral services For August Kurowski were held Saturday, June 14, at 10 a.m. at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Strandquist.
Father Bob Schreiner was the officiant. Organist was Pat Larson. Ben Kleinwachter was the reader; Mark and Brian Kleinwachter the servers; and Andrea and Anthony Hodge the giftbearers. Casketbearers were Scott Kuznia, Francis Kuznia, Vernon Blazejewski, Floyd Blazejewski, Joe Kasmierczak, Mark Prosser and Gary Kostrzewski. Interment was at St. Edward's Cemetery. Collins Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
August Peter Kurowski was born August 27, 1944 in Marshall County near Florian, the son of Rose (Borowicz) and August Kurowski. He attended Karlstad Public School and was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. Due to health problems, August lived first at the Kittson Memorial Nursing Home in Hallock and since l974, at the Karlstad Memorial Nursing Center.
He is survived by his mother, Rose Olson of Lake Bronson; four sisters, Mary, Deloris and Dorothy, all of the Karlstad Memorial Nursing Center and Sandra Hodge of Lake Bronson; three brothers, Robert also of the Karlstad Memorial Nursing Center, Paul of Lake Bronson and James of Hillsboro, ND; four nieces; one nephew; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
August was preceded in death by his father in l970; his step-father, Willie Olson in l986; one brother, David; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
August Peter Kurowski, 52, died Wednesday, June 11, l997 at the Karlstad Memorial Nursing Center.
