
Chester Kukowski, 75
Greenbush - Chester "Chet" Kukowski, 75, died Thursday, December 21, 2000 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 26, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Greenbush with Father Don Braukmann officiating. Eucharistic ministers were Kathy Munro, Diane Kjos and Ann Dziengel. Larry Kukowski was the proclaimer. Altar servers were Ben and Andrew Dziengel, and ushers were Ken Lasneski and Denis Kjos. Serving as gift bearers were Laurel and Shelby Thorlacius. Mitch Walski and Sara Dziengel were the organists.
Casketbearers were Gene Lasneski, Dale Nelson , Darryl Kukowski, Jack Chrzanowski, Don Munro and Larry Dziengel. Members of the Knights of Columbus were honorary casketbearers. Interment was in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Cemetery in Greenbush with Gieseke Funeral Chapel in charge of the arrangements.
Chester Kukowski was born on October 20, 1925 in Barto township of Roseau county near Greenbush, the son of Peter Paul and Elizabeth (Stanislawski) Kukowski. He grew up in Barto township and graduated from Greenbush High School in 1944.
On May 2, 1950, Chester was united in marriage to Bernice Gajeski at Stephen. The couple lived in Greenbush for 12 years before moving to Waite Park. For 38 years, they lived there where Chester was a businessman and realtor. For the past 10 years, Chester and Bernice had resided in both Waite Park and Greenbush, moving to Greenbush permanently two months ago.
Chester is survived by his wife, Bernice; a brother, Al R. (Betty) Kukowski of Greenbush; three sisters, Helen Kukowski and Sister Josephine Kukowski, both of Crookston, and Marie Chrzanowski of Greenbush; and several nieces, nephews, godchildren and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters. A00003B2000DC27
