Brenda Konickson, 30

Thief River Falls - Brenda Konickson, 30, died on Saturday, April 10, 1999 at Dakota Heartland Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 13 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer with Reverend Clarence Johnson officiating. Linda Olson was the organist, and the soloist was Gene Lunsetter. Casketbearers were her cousins, Brad Mossestad, Jerod Konickson, Justin Konickson, Paul Konickson, Lucas Neisen, Dale Mossestad, Timothy Neisen and Eric Skredergard. Burial was in Clara Lutheran Cemetery in River Falls township of Pennington county.

Brenda Lea Konickson was born on May 11, 1968 at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to Donna Beswatherick.

On February 29, 1969 she was adopted by Vernon and Carole Konickson. Brenda was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer. She attended school in Plummer, graduating from Pershing High School in 1986. In 1987 she graduated from the legal secretarial course at the Area Vocational Technical Institute in Thief River Falls.

On April 4, 1987 she was united in marriage to Neil Peterson at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer. The couple lived and farmed in River Falls township. Brenda worked at the Department of Natural Resources office and at Northwest Medical Center. Presently, she was working at Mesaba Airlines and attending Northland Community and Technical College.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Thief River Falls and was a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer.

Brenda is survived by two daughters, Cydnee and CeJae Peterson and their father, Neil; her parents, Vernon and Carole Konickson of Red Lake Falls; one brother, Randy Konickson of Red Lake Falls; her biological mother, Donna (Bill) McNamara of Devon, Alberta, Canada; four half sisters, Brenda (Vince) McKenzie and Shawna McNamara, both of Edmondton, Alberta, Canada, Barbara (Shelby) Kada of Spruce Grove, Alberta, Canada and Cynthia "Cindy" (Curtis) Ludington of Devon, Alberta, Canada; ten nieces; two nephews; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; Ruby Mossestad, Clarence and Alyce Konickson, and Ida and Andrew Beswatherick; and one sister in infancy.
