Olga Kolstrand, 82

Thief River Falls - Olga Kolstrand, 82, died Monday, May 26, l997 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 29 at the Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with Reverend Robert Dahlen officiating. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls. Grace Hammer served as organist and soloist. Casketbearers were James Coan, Raymond Coan, Gordon Tollefson, Curtis Svare, Art Svare and George Duquette.

Olga Teoline Bye was born October 5, 1914 in Star Township, Pennington County to the late John and Marie (Tangen) Bye. She attended school and grew to adulthood in Star Township. On July 31, 1933 she was united in marriage to Melvin A. Kolstrand in Thief River Falls. The couple lived and farmed in Pennington County. Melvin died on January 8, 1992.

Olga is survived by two sisters, Nellie Tveit of Thief River Falls and Mabel Oie of St. Paul; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Minnie Bye, Betsy Svare, Emma Bucholz, Clara Coan and Minnie Tollefson; two brothers, Oscar Bye and Henry Bye; and several nieces and nephews.
