Allan "Bud" Klinke, 78

Bemidji - Allan "Bud" Klinke, 78, formerly of Lengby, died on Friday, October 30, 1998 at the Beltrami Nursing Home in Bemidji.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 2 at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston with Reverend Robert Rains officiating. Burial was in the Lengby City Cemetery.

Allan "Bud" Wesley Klinke was born on February 28, 1920 in Bagley, the son of William and Ruby (Colligan) Klinke. He grew up and attended rural school near Lengby.

He entered the U.S. Army, serving throughout World War II. After the war Bud spent some years in Alaska working at various construction sites. He lived in Washington State for a few years before returning to Lengby. Bud became a resident of the Beltrami Nursing Home in Bemidji in 1997 where he has since resided.

He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 302 of Seattle, WA, the Spring Lake VFW Post 2759 of Lengby and Trail VFW Post 6426. He like to hunt and fish and enjoyed the outdoors.

Bud is survived by four sons, Ronald (Janet) of Fosston, Richard (Dolores) of Wrangell, AK, Loren (Sue) of Colfax, WA and Ross (Anita) of Fosston; four daughters, Lorna (Charles) Snailum of Vancouver, WA, Renee Green, Cheryl (Rick) Boutain and Dawn Olson, all of Thief River Falls; 29 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald E. (Dolly) Klinke of Lengby; two sisters, Olive (Byron) Larson of Hibbing and Margaret (Roger) Buckman of Hawley; and numerous nieces and nephews survive.

He was preceded in death his parents; one son, Donald; one grandson, Lance; two brothers, Lee and Bill; and two sisters, Edith Rose and Betty Slabaugh.
