Grand Forks, ND - Lillian N. Kleven, 96, died Thursday, October 22, 1998 at Villa St. Vincent Nursing Center in Crookston.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 25 at Trinity Free Lutheran Church in Grand Forks, ND. Burial was held at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 26 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Forks. The Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks was in charge of the arrangements.
Lillian Nora Austreng was born on December 15, 1901 near East Grand Forks, the daughter of Martinus and Anna (Anderson) Austreng. She was raised and educated in East Grand Forks.
On June 12, 1926 she married John B. Kleven at Grand Forks, ND. He died in 1972. Lillian was the caretaker of the President Apartments in Grand Forks for many years.
Lillian is survived by one son, John "Jack" (Andrea) Kleven of Minot, ND; two daughters, Audrey (William) Barrett and LaVonne (Joe) Russell Hootman, both of Grand Forks, ND; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Harry, Minor, Walter, Oscar and Robert; and three sisters, Mabel, Julia and Lillian.
