Betty Kisch, 61, died Wednesday, October 25, 2000 at the CNC Unit
of Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 28, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Rev. Marcia Sylvester officiating. Ruthie Mosbeck was the organist, and the soloist was Ashley Hammer. Casketbearers were Betty's nephews, Scott Corriveau, Rob Hallstrom, Wade Hallstrom, Chad Kleinvachter, Brent Kleinvachter and Jason Lambert. Honorary casketbearers were Sharon Corriveau, Charlotte Fillingsness, Carol Lambert, LaDawn Olson, Charlene Schachner, Candise Tveitbakk, Angie Bohm, Barb Bohm and Beverly Ranum. Burial was in Black River Cemetery in Polk Centre township of Pennington county. Green Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Betty Ann Rude was born on November 19, 1938 at Mercy Hospital in Thief River Falls, the daughter of Herman Oliver and Beatrice Alvida (Lokken) Rude. She was baptized on April 23, 1939 in Thief River Falls and confirmed at St. Pauli Lutheran Church near Hazel. She attended school in Thief River Falls at Knox Elementary School and Lincoln High School, graduating in 1956. She also attended Fairview Nursing School for one and one-half years.
On April 8, 1961, Betty was united in marriage to Culver Dean Kisch at St. Pauli Lutheran Church, Hazel. The couple lived in Moorhead while Culver finished school and then moved to Thief River Falls. Betty was employed as a secretary at Arctic Enterprises, as a real estate agent for Northland Realty, at Thief River Linen and most recently, in sales entry at Digi-Key Corp. in Thief River Falls.
She was a member of Black River Lutheran Church and was a former leader in the Black River 4-H club.
Betty enjoyed sewing, ceramics, reading, gardening and especially, spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include two sons, Kyle of Burnsville and Brandon (Kristi) of St. Hilaire; two grandchildren; six sisters, Carol (James) Lambert of Thief River Falls, Sharon (Kenny) Corriveau of Bellevue, Neb., Charlene Schachner of Charlotte, N.C., LaDawn (Terry) Olson of Thief River Falls, Charlotte Fillingsness of Omaha, Neb., and Candise (Larry) Tveitbakk of Bellevue, Neb.; five brothers, Harlan (Karen) Rude of Ramsey, Larry (Cathy) Rude of Eveleth, Arlo (Deborah Ernst) Rude of Thief River Falls, David (Tammy) Rude of Tofte and Timothy (Karla) Rude of Aurora, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Culver; her parents; and a nephew. A00003B2000NV01
