
Hibbing - Jul B. Kilen, 92, died Sunday, March 7, 1999 at Golden Crest Nursing Home in Hibbing.
Funeral services will be held at noon today (Wednesday, March 10) at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Hibbing with Reverend Dale Hutchcraft officiating. Interment will be in Hibbing Park-Maple Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home in Hibbing.
Jul B. Kilen was born on December 17, 1906 in Thief River Falls, the son of Joseph and Annie (Billeson) Kilen. He moved to Middle River where he married Clara Olberg in 1934. The couple farmed there until 1953 when they moved to Hibbing.
Jul worked on his farm and later worked in carpentry and mining. He retired as an inspector for J & J Castings of Hibbing.
He was a member of the Hibbing Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and the Sons of Norway Midnatsolen Lodge 58. He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing.
Jul is survived by his wife, Clara; two sons, Luverne (Nancy) and John (Betty), both of Hibbing; two daughters, Ruth (Roger) Meittunen of Hibbing and Janice Hall of Aitkin; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Stella Branzell of Arlington, TX, Ella Olson of Fresno, CA, and Lila (Laverne) Aune of Grygla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, and five brothers. A00003B1999MR10
