Grace Kiesow, 75

Karlstad - Grace Kiesow, 75, died Wednesday, March 10, 1999 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 15 at Green Funeral Home Chapel in Thief River Falls with Reverend Gary Halverson officiating. Music was provided by Grace Hammer. Casketbearers were Gary Kiesow, Joe Mutnansky, Ron Kiesow, Bruce Kiesow, Trevor Kiesow, Tony Kiesow and Gerald Kiesow. Burial was in Jerusalem Cemetery in Moyland township of Marshall county.

Grace Evelyn Erickson was born on December 2, 1923 in Springbrook township of Kittson county, the daughter of Gustav and Anna Vernes Erickson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended school in rural Halma. She moved with her family to Goodridge in 1938.

On July 27, 1952 Grace was united in marriage to William Kiesow. The couple farmed in Moyland township of Marshall county. Grace worked for a few years as a telephone operator in Grygla. Wilhalm died on August 7, 1973, and in 1980 Grace moved to Karstad where she resided until the time of her death.

She enjoyed gardening, working with flowers, fishing, babysitting, quilting and spending time with her family and friends. She was active at the Senior Citizens Center.

Grace is survived by one son, LeRoy (Margaret) Erickson of Tenino, WA; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Raymond (Audrey) Erickson of Crosby; three sisters, Carrie Anderson of Wall, SD, Agnes Tureson of Hallock and Ruth Tenold of Anoka; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; five brothers, Roy, Fred, Albert, Lester and Leslie; and five sisters, Jenny, Thelma, Ella, Minnie and Clara Anamae. A00003B1999MR17
