
Red Lake Falls - Ronald Kennedy, 79, died Friday, May 22, 1998 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, May 25 at 2 p.m. at St. Dorothy's Catholic Church in Dorothy. Father Gary LaMoine officiatied. Polly Beyer was the organist, and soloist was Darla Huot. Casketbearers were Randy Kennedy, Steve Kennedy, Jim Kennedy, Allen Theroux, Gary Theroux, Brian Theroux, Tom Koralewski, Bruce Kennedy, Matt Kennedy, Brad Kennedy, Craig Kennedy and Jason Kennedy. Honorary casketbearers were all of Ronald's grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Burial was in the St. Dorothy's Catholic Cemetery.
Ronald Henry Kennedy was born on July 16, 1918 in Bancroft, IA, the son of Lewis and Mary (Menke) Kennedy. He was raised in Grafton, ND and Fisher where he attended school.
On September 12, 1939 he was united in marriage to Stella Huot at St. Dorothy's Catholic Church in Dorothy. Ronald farmed until 1947 when he began working for Great Northern Railroad which later became Burlington Northern Railroad. He retired in 1981. The couple made their home near Red Lake Falls. Ronald was a member of St. Dorothy's Catholic Church.
He is survived by five sons, Larry (Connie) Kennedy of Grand Forks, ND, Darrel (Eva) Kennedy of Franksville, WI, Wayne (Rhonda) Kennedy of Burlington, WI, Ronny (Jan) Kennedy of Red Lake Falls and Lyle (Rita) Kennedy of Warroad; two daughters, Doris (John) Theroux of Brooklyn Park and JoAnne (Gordon) Koralewski of Avon; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Hazel Doyea of Red Lake Falls, Lorraine Doyea of Beltrami, Bernice Doyea of Crookston and Mary Lou Tucker of Euclid.
Ronald was preceded in death by his wife Stella on January 2, 1995; parents; two grandsons, Anthony "Tony" Koralewski and David Kennedy; and one sister, Marie Kollasch.
