
Virginia - Zora Kayfes, 90, died Sunday, January 30, 2000 at the Arrowhead Health Care Center in Virginia.
Mass of Christian burial was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 4 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Buhl with Rev. Steven Daigle officiating. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery in Buhl with the Range Funeral Home of Virginia in charge of the arrangements.
Zora Katalinic was born on June 4, 1909 in Rogolia, Yugoslavia, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Katalinic. She grew up and attended school in Rogolia.
On November 24, 1926 Zora married Peter S. Kayfes in Rogolia, and following their marriage the couple moved to the United States. They made their home in Buhl. After Peter's death, Zora moved to Thief River Falls. In 1978 she moved to Virginia and was a resident of Arrowhead Health Care Center until her death.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Buhl and St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls.
She enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting and gardening.
Zora is survived by one son, James P. (Lynn) Kayfes of St. Paul; one daughter, Carol (Roger) Amundson of Thief River Falls; 25 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews in Yugoslavia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter S.; one daughter, Kathryn Kinsman; two sons, Peter A. Kayfes and Edward J. Kayfes; an infant child; one daughter-in-law, Georgene Kayfes; one son-in-law, Robert Kinsman; and her parents.
