
Viking - Myrtle Kagg, 89, died Thursday, February 17, 2000 at the CNC unit of Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 21, at Zion Lutheran Church in Viking with Rev. Paul Chell officiating. Special music included a duet by Virgil and Marville Hjelle and a solo by Sheri Chell. Casketbearers were Halward Anderson, Craig Dunrud, Keith Larson, Richard Larson, Ronald Larson and Dwight Tangquist. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Warren. Arrangements were with the Quanrud-DuBore Funeral Home in Warren.
Myrtle Elyda Larson as born on October 13, 1910 to John and Emma (Johnson) Larson at rural East Grand Forks where she spent her early years.
On October 28, 1928, she was united in marriage to Harold Kagg in East Grand Forks. The couple made their home in Starkweather, ND until 1931 when they moved to Viking where they raised turkeys. Harold died on June 20, 1973.
Myrtle was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid. She was a past president of the Warren American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the Thief River Falls American Legion Auxiliary. She also served on the Viking City Council and was a member of the Town and Country Garden Club.
She enjoyed gardening, especially flower gardening, and took great pride in her community.
Myrtle is survived by one daughter, Barbara (Len) Lekstrom of Annandale, VA; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Useldinger of Grand Forks, ND; and two brothers, Elmer Larson and Kenneth Larson, both of East Grand Forks.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one sister, Arlette. A00003B2000FB23
