
Tucson, Ariz. - Gladys Joringdal, 92, formerly of Thief River Falls, died Saturday, June 24, 2000.
Interment was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 29.
Gladys Remmem was born on June 22, 1908 in Thief River Falls, the daughter of Anton and Inga Remmem. She grew up in Thief River Falls where she graduated from Lincoln High School and was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church.
Gladys was active in the Democratic Farm-Labor party, serving as chairwoman in Pennington county. She later later moved to Grand Forks, N.D. where she was very active with the Avon company before becoming a site manager for the Greater Grand Forks Senior Center. Gladys retired from that position in 1988 at the age of 80 years. Following her retirement, she moved to Tucson, Ariz. to spend time with her family.
She enjoyed spending time with her son and grandchildren and entertaining friends and neighbors.
Gladys is survived by one son, Ralph (Ardis) Foster of Tucson; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson; and her twin sister, Goldie L. Lueders of St. Paul.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Bertha, Agnes, Ruth and Mildred; her husbands, Ralph F. Foster and Clarence O. Joringdal; and one grandson, Jonathan R. Foster. A00003B2000JL12
