Thief River Falls - Donna Jorde, 65, died Monday, March 10, 1997 at her home. Arrangements were with Green Funeral Home of Thief River Falls.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 13 at Abundant Life Church of Thief River Falls with Rev. Wes Langaas officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
Casketbearers were Scott and Todd Bergland, Chris Jorde, Nathan Hunt, Michael and Steven Kaushagen.
Donna Claire Bergland was born on December 18, 1931 in Thief River Falls, the daughter of Ole and Martha (Swenson) Bergland. She was baptized on February 8, 1932 and confirmed on September 2, 1945. She attended school and lived with her family in several states including Montana, Wisconsin, North Dakota before returning to Thief River Falls where she finished her schooling, graduating from Lincoln High School on June 3, 1949. She attended the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis. She worked at Northern State Bank for a short time before her marriage. She was united in marriage to Glen Jorde on April 7, 1951 in Thief River Falls. Donna and Glen worked side by side farming and raising their family. She also worked in the dietary department of Northwest Medical Center until ill health forced her retirement.
She was a member of Abundant Life Church. She loved her family, doing yard work, her painting and hunting for golf balls with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Glen; children Marsha (Rick) Vicente of Thief River Falls, Susan (John) Martz of Fairbanks, AK, Randy (Cory) Jorde of Thief River Falls, Lucy (Ron) Boeger of Durham, CA, Penny (Greg) Harder of Thief River Falls; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two great-stepgrandchildren; brother Richard Bergland; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by infant daughter Darcy Jill; and her parents.
