Anna Johnsrud, 93

Thief River Falls - Anna Johnsrud, 93, died Monday, April 5, 1999 at Northwest Medical Center, CNC Unit, in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 9 at the Evangelical Free Church in Thief River Falls with Reverend Melvin Sich and Reverend Edsel Lindquist officiating. Carolyn Trontvet was the organist, and Grace Hammer was the soloist. Casketbearers were Delbert Erickson, Paul Johnson, Clyde Christiansen, Jennings Jensen, John Flom, and Ken Schroeder. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls. The Green Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Anna Ragna Skadshiem was born on May 16, 1905 in Harmattan, Alberta, Canada to Louis and Charlotte (Johnsrud) Skadshiem. Anna later made her home with her grandparents, Ole and Aletta Johnsrud.

On October 8, 1925 Anna was united in marriage to Abraham R. Johnsrud at Westerdale, Alberta. She came to Minnesota as a bride, and the couple lived in the Grygla and Goodridge communities before moving to Thief River Falls. Anna was employed as deputy treasurer for Pennington county and worked for her husband, A.R. Johnsrud, for 16 years.

She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Thief River Falls and was active in its White Cross organization. She was also a correspondent to the church's missionaries on their birthdays. She enjoyed remembering relatives and friends with cards and gifts.

Anna is survived by one half brother, Amos (Grace) Skadshiem of Modesto, CA; four half sisters, Esther Johnson of Newberg, OR, Ruby (David) Galusha of Santa Rosa, CA, Martha Pasko of Dundee, OR and Edna Shepherd of Venice, CA; three nephews and five nieces; and special friends, James and Iva Wells of Goodridge and their family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Abraham on December 29, 1971; her parents; one stepson, Glen; and one sister, Irene.
