Moorhead - Lester J. Johnson, 40, died Wednesday, October 4, 2000 at his home in Moorhead.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 7, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Interment was in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Moorhead with arrangements by Korsmo Funeral Service in Moorhead.
Lester James Johnson was born on April 5, 1960 in Two Harbors, the son of Vernon and Mary (Smyth) Johnson. He spent his early childhood in Silver Bay, and the family moved to Moorhead in 1973 where Les attended Moorhead North Junior High and graduated from Moorhead High School in 1978.
Following graduation, he worked for Ed's Standard in Moorhead. He enjoyed driving truck and did so for several area companies, including Nash Finch, L.L. Distribution, Nebco-Evans and Ameriserve, all in Fargo, N.D.
He also enjoyed mechanics, riding snowmobiles, boating and auto racing.
Les is survived by his parents, Vernon and Mary Johnson of Moorhead; a sister, Veronica (Heath) Lunde of Egg Harbor, Wisc., a brother, Anthony Johnson of Dilworth; two nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives, including several from the Thief River Falls area.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents. A00003B2000OC11
