
Grygla - Hattie Johnson, 76, died Tuesday, February 8, 2000 at the CNC unit of Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 12 at Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla with Rev. Paul Knutson officiating. Joy Nordby was the organist, and Jodi Schulz was the soloist. Casketbearers were Scott Johnson, Krista Johnson, Susan Crane, Bruce Crane, Kevin Beito, Lisa Beito, Howard Beito, Michelle Beito and Donna Fabian. Interment was at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 14 in Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji. The Green Funeral Home of Thief River Falls was in charge of the arrangements.
Hattie Adeline Hanson was born on April 18, 1923 in Reine township of Roseau county, the daughter of Henry and Annie (Midboe) Hanson. She was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church in Roseau county and attended Winner rural school in Roseau county.
On April 16 1939, she was married to Gust Johnson at a Lutheran parish in Roseau county. The couple moved to the Fourtown area and farmed in Spruce Grove township of Beltrami county. In addition to working with her husband on the farm, Hattie worked at Land O'Lakes for two years and at Arctic Enterprises for 14 years. In 1978, the couple moved into Grygla but continued to spend summers on the farm for several years.
She enjoyed flowers, gardening and craft work.
Hattie is survived by her husband, Gust; one daughter, Doris (Ernest) Beito of Motley; one son, Donald (Mary) Johnson of Anoka; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Thelma Anderson of Thief River Falls; three brothers, Vernon (Bernice) Hanson of Rock Island, IL, Curtis (Shirley) Hanson of Coal Valley, IL and Ernest Hanson of Des Plaines, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death one grandson, Brian Johnson; her parents; four brothers, Alvin, Kenneth, Marvin and an infant brother; and one sister, Alvina Hanson. A00003B2000FB16
