Earnest "Ernie" Johnson, 72

Spokane, WA - Earnest J. "Ernie" Johnson, 72, died Monday, April 13, 1998 at Spokane, WA.

Funeral services were held on Friday, April 17 at 1 p.m. at the Sunset Mausoleum Chapel on the grounds of Fairmount Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Ole Gunderson officiating. The Riplinger Funeral Home of Spokane was in charge of the arrangements.

Earnest James Johnson was born on June 26, 1925 at Grygla. He was united in marriage to Alta Dale of Fertile in Spokane in 1946. Ernie resided in Spokane, WA for 38 years before moving to Newport, WA in 1984. Four years ago, he returned to Spokane. He was a member of the United Steelworkers Union and worked for Kaiser Aluminum for 35 years.

Survivors include his wife, Alta Johnson of Spokane; four sons, Robert (Peggy) Johnson, Gregg (Linda) Johnson, Gary Johnson and Keith Johnson, all of Spokane; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his aunt, Petra Nelson of Thief River Falls.
