Roseville - Kristen Maria Jenkins, 23, formerly of Thief River Falls died Wednesday, July 23, 1997 at St. John's Hospital in Maplewood of sudden cardiac arrest.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 27 at 2 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Reverend Marcia Sylvester officiating. Joyce Halbasch was the organist. Vocal music was provided by Jan and Deidre Nordin and Jacquelyn Flynn. Casketbearers were Kevin Jenkins, Kara Jenkins, Shane Borg, Tim Disrud, Jill Groslie and Robyn Carlson. Burial was at Greenwod Cemetery. The Green Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Kristen Maria Jenkins was born on April 6, 1974 in San Diego, CA the daughter of Mark and Kathi (Wells) Jenkins. She was baptized in San Diego and later confirmed in her faith at Redeemer Luthern Church in Thief River Falls. She attended school at Washington Elementary and graduated from Lincoln High School in l992. Kristen attended North Hennepin College, Moorhead State University and graduated from the Licensed Practical Nursing Program at Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls. She worked as an LPN for Interim Nursing Service at Rosewood Estates in St. Paul and had been residing in Roseville.
She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Kirsten is survived by her parents, Mark and Kathi Jenkins of Thief River Falls; her fiance, Shane Borg of Maplewood; sister, Kara of Roseville; brother, Kevin of Thief River Falls; grandparents, Bernard and Virginia Wells, and great-grandmother, Beatrice Hutchinson, all of Goodridge; five aunts and uncles; special Godchild, Aaron Carlson; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Violet and Bob Jenkins.
