Thea Iverson, 89

Madison, SD - Thea S. Iverson, 89, died Saturday, August 23, 1997 at the Bethel Lutheran Home in Madison, SD.

Funeral services will be held today, August 27 at 10:30 a.m. at United Lutheran Church in Gatzke with Reverend Arlen R. Lloyd officiating. Gloria Sistad will be the organist. Casketbearers will be James, Jeffrey, John, Mark, Russell and Ryan Iverson. Honorary bearers will be Mark Jenson Jr., Reed Iverson, Larry Dahl, Arvin Dahl, Elmer Dahl and Orlan Dahl. A 7:30 prayer service was held Tuesday evening at the Collins Funeral Chapel in Middle River. Interment will be at the Landstad Cemetery near Gatzke. The Collins Funeral Home of Middle River is in charge of the arrangements.

Thea S. Olson was born on March 26, 1908 in Pinewood, the daughter of John D. and Anna (Paulson) Olson. She was united in marriage to Melvin Iverson in Bemidji on January 19, 1925. In 1938, she began working as a housekeeper for the Alfred and Ole Moberg farms of the Middle River and Gatzke community. She retired in the mid-l980's. After visiting her son in Sioux Falls, SD in 1987, whe became ill and was admitted to Bethel Lutheran Home in Madison, SD where she has since resided.

Thea is survived by two sons, Maynerd (Betty) of Thornton, CO and Jim of Sioux Falls, SD; one daughter, Aloyce (Curtis) Wiskow of Strathcona; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her parents; seven brothers; and five sisters.
