Jerome C. Huset, 59

Walhalla, ND - Jerome Huset, 59, died Tuesday, December 30, 1997 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 3, 1998 at 2 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Middle River with Pastors John Jorgenson and Art Hiebert officiating. Lois Peterson was the organist. Casketbearers were Ray Juhl, Gerald Gillund, Pat Collins and Luverne Lindahl. Military honors were accorded by the Middle River American Legion Post. Interment was at the First Lutheran Cemetery in Middle River. The Collins Funeral Home of Middle River was in charge of the arrangements.

Jerome Carl Huset, the son of Elmer and Anna (Blom) Huset, was born on October 1, 1938 at Middle River. He attended school at Middle River and graduated from Maplewood Academy at Hutchinson. He also attended McPhail School of Music, University of Minnesota.

In 1962 Jerome married Virginia Olson at Minneapolis. He was employed in health care at a nursing home in Minneapolis.

On January 6, 1977 Jerome was united in marriage to Mary Devlin at Chisago City. The couple resided in North Branch until 1986 and then traveled through the western states. Since May of 1996, they have resided at Walhalla, ND. Jerome had been in failing health for the past two years.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; one son, David Huset of Minneapolis; one daughter, Stephanie Huset of Minneapolis; one step-daughter, Kellie (Pete) Bergstrom of Minneapolis; four grandchildren; one brother, Calvin Huset of Beltsville, MD; one sister, Elaine (Fritz) Olberg Sol of East Bethel in Minneapolis; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Jerome was preceded in death by his parents.
