
Red Lake Falls - Clara A. Hultin, 83, died November 1, 1997 at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes.
Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, November 5 at 10:30 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls with Chaplain Vicki Marthaler officiating. Casketbearers will be Glen Hultin, Ronald Hultin, Dale Hultin, David Hultin, Alvin Schroeder and Paul Schroeder. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoople, ND Cemetery. The Petterson Funeral Home of Red Lake Falls is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation was held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Petterson Funeral Home and one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
Clara Amelia Carpenter was born December 31, 1913 at Walhalla, ND, the daughter of Thomas Carpenter and Clara Keeling. She was raised by Mary and Arthur Otto at Hoople, ND after the death of her parents. She graduated from Hoople High School.
On November 24, 1936 Clara was married to Arvid Hultin at Hoople. Clara was a homemaker while the couple farmed in the areas of Hoople and Fordville, ND and Red Lake Falls. She did childcare in the homes residents in Red Lake Falls and Crookston. Arvid died on December 9, 1995.
Clara is survived by two sons, Alden (LoveEll) of Fergus Falls and Wilmer (Lynda) of Detroit Lakes; three daughters, Patricia (Charles) Magnusson of Crookston, Mary (John) Roy of Blaine and Phyllis (Robert) Fick of Detroit Lakes; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lawrence Carpenter of Plummer and Leonard Carpenter of Clinton; foster brothers and sisters, Howard Otto, Raymond Otto, Roseann Otto and Arlene Alred, all of Washington State; and many relatives in the Crystal and Walhalla, ND areas.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Sheldon; one great-grandson, Jonathan; parents; foster parents; two infant siblings, Leslie and Emma; and one brother, Wallace.
