
Goodridge - Alice Hruby, 70, died Friday, February 18, 1999 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 22 at Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge with Reverend George Davis and Reverend Greg Walter officiating. Margie Iverson was the organist, and vocal music was provided by Grace Hammer and Scott Walseth. Alice's children were the casketbearers. Burial was in Silverton Lutheran Cemetery in Silverton township of Pennington county. The Green Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Alice Ruth Nelson was born on March 22, 1928 in Grand Plains township of Marshall county, the daughter of Oscar and Annie (Lubitz) Nelson. She attended rural schools and graduated from high school in Seattle, WA.
Alice returned to Goodridge and was united in marriage to Stanley Hruby on April 30, 1950. The couple farmed and raised their family on the family cattle and grain farmstead in Cloverleaf township.
She was a member of Telemarken and Faith Lutheran Churches. Alice enjoyed softball, crocheting, embroidery, and especially spending time with family and friends.
Alice is survived by her husband, Stanley; four daughters, Pam Hruby of Thief River Falls, Marcia (Tom) Hutton of Thompson, ND, Juanita (Jim) Fisher of Terrell, TX and Julie (Maurice) Titus of Nampa, ID; four sons, Roger (Karen) Hruby of Goodridge, Larry (Gwen) Hruby of Osage, Richard Merrill of Alvarado, and Wade (Mary Beth) Hruby of Salol; 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alfred (Betty) Nelson of Montana and Curtis (Ida) Nelson of Thief River Falls; and three sisters, Helen Olson and Violet (Bernie) Weigel, both of Thief River Falls, Fern (Kenny) Liden of Underwood and Lilly (Ralph) Klockman of Goodridge.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Jason Hutton; two sisters, Gladys Jorstad and Isabelle Latta; one brother, Elmer "Bud" Nelson; two brothers-in-law; and two nephews.
