Goodridge - Albina Hruby, 99, died Tuesday, August 1, 2000 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Mass of Christian
burial was
held at 10:30 a.m.
on Saturday, August 5 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River
Falls with Father Tim Bushy officiating. Kara Larson was the
organist, and special music was provided by Judy DuPree and Kathy
Kainz. Shirley Hruby was the reader. Casketbearers were her
grandchildren, Marjorie Housker, Eugene Ptacek, Brian Hruby, Lisa
Mell, Susanne Larsen, Kristy Anderson, Katie Hruby and Nicci Hruby.
Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls with Green
Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Albina Suchan was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 1900 in Jackson, the daughter of Karel and Mary (Sedivy) Suchan. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith and attended school in Jackson and Breckenridge. She worked as a hired hand on the family farm.
On September 29, 1920, she was united in marriage to Ludvek Hruby at Jackson. The couple farmed in the Mavie community in Silverton township of Pennington county. Following her husband's death on June 14, 1980, Albina continued to live on the family farm until November 1, 1999 when she moved to Oakland Park Nursing Home.
She enjoyed raising chickens and turkeys, reading, gardening, needlework and spending time with family.
Albina is survived by two sons, Edwin (Shirley) Hruby of Audubon and C.W. (Marlys) Hruby of Goodridge; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; one brother, Bennie (Laurine) Suchan of Jackson; one sister, Elsie Suchan of Jackson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Ardith in 1972; one grandson, Adam; seven sisters, Emma, Mary, Rose, Ann, Catherine, Agnes and Helen; five brothers, Anton, Frank, George, Clarence and Frank; and one son-in-law, Ray. A00003B2000AG09
