Gladys Horstman, 88

Shelton, WA - Gladys Horstman, 88, formerly of Oklee, died Monday, October 5, 1998 in Shelton, WA.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 16 at Zion Lutheran Church in Oklee with Reverend Bob Paulson officiating. Marian Marquis was the organist, and Donna Sherman and LaVonne Enerson presented a duet. Casketbearers were Luaine Johnson, Frank Barnes, Clifton Melby, John Lerohl, Brian Horstman and Wayne Vettelson. Burial was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Oklee. The Petterson Funeral Home of Oklee was in charge of the arrangements.

Gladys Lenora Johnson was born on November 10, 1909 near Oklee, the daughter of Nels and Carrie (Otis) Johnson.

She was united in marriage to Lou G. Horstman in 1928, and the couple continued to reside in Oklee where she was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was active in its Ladies Aid. In 1993 Gladys moved to Shelton, WA to be closer to her family.

Gladys is survived by two sons, Jerry (Mary) Horstman of Shelton, WA and Lou (Sharon) Horstman Jr. of Chewalah, WA; two grandsons; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Lorraine; five brothers, Peter, Goodwin, Harry, Lloyd and Melvin; and two sisters, Nena and Annie.
