Holt - Memorial services were held Tuesday, May 27 at 10:30 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt for Howard J. Horien. Pastors John Jorgenson and Nancy Werner officiated. Leon Horien delivered the eulogy. Military rites were conducted by the American Legion of Middle River. Howard Horien died Tuesday, May 6, 1997 at Everette, WA. Graveside services were held there on May 12.
Howard was born September 20, 1925 at Holt, the son of Leo and Ida Horien. He was baptized and confirmed at Nazareth Lutheran Church. He attended school in Holt and graduated from Newfolden High School. He served with the United States Army from 1943 to 1945. He was a heavy equipment operator for many years.
Howard is survived by his wife, Jan of Lynnwood, WA; three brothers, Jerome, Robert and Leon; four sisters, Lucille, Norma, Bonnie and Mary; several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Hew was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Donald, Richard, Roger and Lincoln.
