Lois Hook, 69

Viking - Lois Hook, 69, of Viking died Wednesday, June 25, 1997 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 28 at Zion Lutheran Church in Viking with Reverend Paul Chell officiating. Gloria Ness was the organist and Van Swanson, the soloist. Casketbearers were Brian Hook, Jacob Hook, Tim Hook, Tom Yutrzenka, Kenneth Dunrud and Paul Halverson. The honorary casketbearers were the VFW Auxiliary and Cooties Auxiliary of Thief River Falls and all of Lois' friends. Burial was held at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 30 at Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji. The Green Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Lois Ann Vadnais was born February 17, l928 in International Falls to Louis and Ann (Akelstad) Vadnais. She attended school there until moving to Oroville, CA in the early l940's. In 1945, Lois moved back to Bemidji and worked at Bemidji Lutheran Hospital as a nurse's aid. On August 8, l947, she was united in marriage to Aaron "Bud" Hook in Bemidji. The couple lived there until moving to Clearbrook in l952. The couple moved to Viking in l953 and have lived there since.

Lois was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Viking, V.F.W. Auxiliary and Cooties Auxiliary of Thief River Falls and Aad Temple Shrine Auxiliary of Duluth. Her life centered around the love of other people and her family.

Lois is survived by her husband, Aaron of Viking; three sons, Gary (Janet) of Maplewood, Steve (Sharon) of Thief River Falls, and Thomas (Michelle) of Bemidji; and eleven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
