Thief River Falls - Florence Homme, 76, died Tuesday, February 25, 1997 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls. Arrangements were with Green Funeral Home of Thief River Falls.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 1 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery of Thief River Falls.
Casketbearers were Curt Ness, Barry Fellman, Mitch Beito, Greg Brekke, Greg Bottem and Tim Bottem.
Florence Bottem was born on March 11, 1920 in Holt, the daughter of the late Oscar and Olga (Halvorson) Bottem. She was baptized and attended school in Holt and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. She was united in marriage to Gunnuf Homme on June 20, 1946 in Thief River Falls. The couple lived in Thief River Falls. Gunnuf died on June 20, 1960. Florence worked at Northland Produce for many years, and later at Arctic Cat until she retired.
She is survived by brothers Morris (Mary) Bottem of St. Paul and Lawrence (Darlene) Bottem of Thief River Falls; sister Gladys Offerdahl of Thief River Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter Julie Ann in infancy; parents; brothers Clarence, Rueben, Leonard, Ernest, Melvin and an infant brother; sisters Ruth Sorum and Alice Scheib; niece Sharon Fields; and nephew Culver Bottem.
