Thief River Falls - Inga Holten, 90, died Saturday, March 4, 2000 at the CNC unit of Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, March 8) at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Rev. Raynard Huglen officiating. Wanda Vigness will be the organist. Casketbearers will be Thomas Holten, Michael Holten, Ronald Holten, Vernon Mickelson, Michael Whalen and Richard Hoglo. Interment will be in Rindal Cemetery in New Solum township of Marshall county.
Inga Holten was born on August 21, 1909 in New Solum township of Marshall county, the daughter of Thom and Annie (Haugen) Holten. She was baptized and confirmed at Rindal Lutheran Church, attended Columbus Country School and grew up in New Solum township. She farmed with her brother, enjoying the work, especially the animals which included horses, cows, cats, dogs and sheep.
Inga was a member of Rindal Lutheran Church where she was active in Ladies Aid, serving as its president.
She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, cross word puzzles and spending time with family and friends.
Inga is survived by one sister, Elsie (Holten) Mickelson of Cyrus; two sisters-in law, Ethel Holten of Farmington and Deloris Holten of Thief River Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Six brothers, Albin, Theodore, Goodwin, Eddlin and two infant brothers; two sisters, Alma Lull and Bertha Holten; one half sister, Esther Holien; one half brother, Sigvart Holten; and one sister-in-law. A00003B2000MR08
