
Grygla - Alvin Holte, 76, died Tuesday, October 6, 1998 at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services were held on Friday, October 9 at Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla with Reverend Roberta Johnson officiating. Special music was provided by Joy Nordby. Casketbearers were Darrell Hanson, Gary Hanson, Richard Hanson, Paul Holte, Steven Holte and Robert Miller. Burial was in St. Olaf Cemetery in Valley township of Marshall county. The Green Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Alvin Holte was born on June 26, 1922 in Eckvoll township of Marshall county, the son of Peter and Hannah (Rue) Holte. He was baptized at St. Petri and attended school at Eckvoll and Veldt schools. He worked for area farmers and lived and farmed on the family farm in Veldt township of Marshall county. Alvin moved into Grygla in February of 1998. Since September 1, 1998, he has made his home at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls.
Alvin is survived by three sisters, Myrtle Hanson of Nielsville, Hilma Hanson of Edina and Mabel Spicer of Grand Rapids; one brother, Palmer (Geordes) Holte of Grygla; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Hazel Holte who died at the age of eight; two nephews; one niece; and three brothers-in-law.
