Saturday, September 9, at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls
with Rev. Sylvester officiating.
Signe Amelia Hegtvedt was born on May 20, 1914 in Moylan township of Marshall county, the daughter of Torjie and Tjodvor (Utabjaa) Hegtvedt. She grew up in Moylan township and attended school there. She also attended Goodridge High School. She was confirmed in Germantown.
In 1941, Signe was united in marriage to Gust Edward Holmes. She was employed at Kifes and in the Thief River Falls School District as a cook. She also worked as a housekeeper at Wetch Hotel and at Arctic Cat.
Survivors include three children, Edward "Gus" (Mary) Holmes, Charlotte (Jerome) Larson and Richard (Shari) Holmes, all of Thief River Falls; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Ted Hegtvedt of Thief River Falls; one sister, Inga (Ray) Honeywell of Las Vegas, Nev.; and several nieces and nephews.
Signe was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Knute, Charles, Carl, Ole, Henry and Alfred; and two sisters, Tillie and Clara. A00003B2000SP06
