Thief River Falls - Marion Hoglo, 93, died Sunday, March 26, 2000 at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls.

Mass of Christian burial will be held today (Wednesday, March 29) at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls with Father Dennis Weiland officiating. Special music will be provided by a family choir, and honorary casketbearers will be all of Marion's grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 28 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church.

Marion Ethel Elizabeth Raymond was born on February 18, 1907 in Grand Forks township of Polk county, the daughter of Joseph and Delima (Cole) Raymond. She was baptized and confirmed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in East Grand Forks. She attended Sacred Heart Elementary School in East Grand Forks and Aaker's Business College in Grand Forks, ND.

On April 24, 1925, Marion was united in marriage to William Henry Hoglo in Crookston. The couple lived in East Grand Forks until 1939 when they moved to Gonvick. In 1948, they moved to Thief River Falls. After Henry died on December 25, 1953, Marion continued to make her home in Norden township of Pennington county until two years ago when she moved to Oakland Park Nursing Home.

She was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church and was active in its Guild.

Marion is survived by three sons, William "Bill" (Sharon) of Thief River Falls, Robert "Bob" (Deloris) of St. Hilaire and Richard "Dick" (Vonnie) of Thief River Falls; two daughters, Janice (Wallace) Lamb of Warren and Candice "Candy" (Marvin) Olson of Thief River Falls; 23 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; one sister, Beatrice "Bede" (Donald) Stewart of Anoka; and one brother, Vernon (Betty Ann) Hecht of Mentor.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Gene on February 14, 1964; two granddaughters, Diane Deloris and Bobbi Ann Hoglo; two grandsons, Russell Lamb and Stephen Robert Hoglo; her parents; and two brothers, Francis and Ralph Raymond. A00003B2000MR29
