John Hoglin, 75

Lancaster - John Hoglin, 75, died Wednesday, July 1, 1998 at the Kittson Memorial Care Center in Hallock.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 5 at 3 p.m. at Hughes Funeral Home in Hallock. Interment was in Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Lancaster.

John Hoglin was born in Granville township of Kittson county on November 18, 1922, the son of Paul and Sophia (Carlson) Hoglin. He attended country school for eight years and graduated from the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston.

On June 5, 1949 he was united in marriage to Loyce Jevning at Hallock. The couple settled near Lancaster where they farmed and raised turkeys. John also worked at American Crystal in Drayton, ND and in 1968 went to work at Motor Coach Industries in Pembina, ND.

He sang in the barbershop quartet, "Tranquilizers," and played with a band called "Knights of Rhythm."

John is survived by his wife, Loyce; two sons, David (Dianne) Hoglin of Thief River Falls and Daniel Hoglin of Lancaster; two grandsons; and one sister, Edith Peterson of Lancaster.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Ann, Pauline and Helen; and one brother, Harry.
