
Newfolden - Donna Mae Hogberg, 67, died Thursday, May 11, 2000 at her home in Newfolden.
Funeral services
were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 15, at
Bethlehem Lutheran
Church in Newfolden with Rev. Gary Barrett officiating. Beverly
Lindstrom was the organist, and the pianist was Brenda Hanson. Vocal
music was provided by Kristi Olson, Deland Elseth and Donna Mae
Hogberg (on tape). Casketbearers were Donna Mae's grandchildren:
Andrew Waterworth, Corey Hogberg, Joshua Hogberg, Benjamin
Waterworth, Jennifer Hogberg, Joel Hogberg, Joseph Hogberg, Jordan
Hogberg, Abigail Waterworth and Megan Waterworth. Green Funeral Home
of Thief River Falls was in charge of the arrangements.
Donna Mae Lind was born on January 28, 1933 in Marsh Grove township of Marshall county, the daughter of Helmer and Amy (Lundell) Lind. She attended Fairview Elementary School and graduated from Newfolden High School in 1951.
On December 1, 1951, she was united in marriage to Lowell Hogberg at Bethesda Lutheran Church. They lived, farmed and raised their family in Wright township.
Donna Mae attend Northland Junior College and the University of North Dakota and received her bachelor of arts degree in English with a music minor in 1973. She taught school at Strandquist Public School and Heritage Christian School. Later, she returned to college to receive her certification in special education and taught nine years in the Greenbush Public School.
Donna Mae enjoyed short-term mission work with Lowell in Venezuela, Peru, Belguim, and Japan as well as at the Rio Grande Bible Institute in Edinburg, Texas.
She enjoyed teaching, music, reading, writing, foster parenting and especially loved spending time with children.
She was an active member of the Newfolden Evangelical Free Church and was involved in many community groups and activities.
Donna Mae is survived by her husband, Lowell of Newfolden; three sons, Daniel (Peggy) of Thornton, Colo., David (Pam) of Sandstone, and Myles (Judy) of Newfolden; one daughter, Marinell (Philip) Waterworth of Newfolden; one foster daughter, Pamela (Bruce) Socwell of Warren; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Yvonne (Dennis) Ristau of East Grand Forks; and two brothers, Delano (Margaret) Lind of Richfield and Harley (Kathy) Lind of Grand Forks, N.D.; as well as aunts and uncles and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents. A00003B2000MY17
